FIFTEEN new Covid-19 cases were reported nationwide today, pushing the total number of infected patients nationwide so far to 8,587.

However, there were no deaths reported by the Health Ministry today, with the death toll remaining at 121.

Two of the new cases are imported cases, while the 13 local transmissions involved foreigners.

Sarawak managed to keep a clean slate today with no new infections.

Meanwhile, Public Medicare Group (PMG) has confirmed that one of its staff at Medan Jaya branch in Bintulu has tested positive for Covid-19 last Saturday.

PMG said in a statement said the female employee was asymptomatic and believed to have been infected by her father from the Kidurong cluster.

She has been quarantined since June 17. All the other employees of the branch are undergoing quarantine and testing.

The affected branch has been temporarily closed until further notice.

Deep cleansing and sanitisation of the affected branch has been carried out in accordance with the Health Ministry’s guidelines.
