Covid-19: Another record number of cases today nationwide, Sarawak has 464

MALAYSIA reported its highest daily caseload of 17,405 Covid-19 infections and 143 deaths over the past 24 hours.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the total number of infections now stands at 1,061,476, with 175,113 active cases.

There are 1,016 patients in the ICU and 529 on ventilators.

Selangor had the most cases with 7,171 infections, followed by Kuala Lumpur (2,880), Kedah (1,112), Sabah (913), Negeri Sembilan (863), Johor (767), Penang (760), Kelantan (532), Malacca (531), Terengganu (490), Sarawak (464), Pahang (429), Perak (406), Putrajaya (68), Labuan (16) and Perlis (3).

In Sarawak, Kuching had the most cases with 184 infections followed by Serian (79), Samarahan (66), Meradong (21), Bintulu (19), Bau (16), Sibu (15) and 10 each in Tebedu and Tatau.

Asajaya had nine cases, Dalat (7), Lundu (6), Miri (5), Mukah (4), Kapit (3), Saratok (2), Telang Usan (2) and one case each in Simunjan, Betong, Song, Pusa, Selangau and Beluru.

Sarawak’s total cases has risen to 75,211 while its death toll remains at 459 with no new deaths reported today.

For a second day in a row, there were no new clusters in Sarawak. Three clusters were also declared to have ended today.

They are the Jalan Coastal Bintulu-Miri Cluster in Bintulu, Kampung Sinar Budi Baru Cluster in Kuching and Balie Pie Cluster in Subis.

The number of active clusters remaining in Sarawak is now 78.
