He said the number Covid-19 patients in intensive care units has now reached 108 with 35 of them on ventilators while the number of active cases reached a new high of 5,772.

Dr Noor Hisham said one new Covid-19 cluster was detected, which was linked to districts in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Johor.

The new cluster, called the Kencana cluster, is connected to cases in Hulu Langat, Petaling, Klang and Gombak districts in Selangor, Cheras in Kuala Lumpur, as well as Johor Bahru, Batu Pahat and Pontian in Johor.

The three new infections that were reported in Sarawak, brings the total number of positive cases in the state to 755.

Sarawak Disaster Management Committee chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said the cases were recorded in Kuching, Miri and Limbang.

He said all three cases were classified as imported cases, as the patients got the infections in Covid-19 high-risk areas in Sabah.
