Covid-19: 556 new cases in Sarawak, Negeri Sembilan records more than 1,000 cases

MALAYSIA recorded 5,738 new Covid-19 cases and 60 deaths in the past 24 hours.

With the new cases, the nation’s tally now stands at 678,764 cases while the death toll is 4,202.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said Selangor had the most cases with 1,858 while Negeri Sembilan recorded a big surge in cases.

Negeri Sembilan recorded 1,086 cases, which is almost double the average reported over the past week.

It was followed by Kuala Lumpur (641), Sarawak (559), Johor (449), Sabah (248), Kedah (197), Malacca (184), Kelantan (154), Penang (97), Labuan (97), Terengganu (77), Pahang (54), Perak (30) and Putrajaya (7).

There were no new recorded cases in Perlis today .

With the new cases, Sarawak’s total number of infections now stands at 58,034.

Sarawak recorded two deaths, bringing its tally to 366.

There are six new clusters in state, with two of them in elderly homes. They are the Iris Garden Cluster and Jalan Stampin Cluster in Kuching

The other clusters are the Jalan Keruing Cluster in Kuching, Kampung Serikin Cluster in Bau, Sawai Niah Cluster in Subis and Jalan Kidurong Empat Cluster in Bintulu.
