Covid-19: 52 new cases nationwide, none in Sarawak

FIFTY-TWO new Covid-19 cases were recorded today as the nation’s total number of infections rose to 10,219 cases.

Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that 40 were locally transmitted cases involving 26 Malaysians and 14 non-citizens.

Of these, Sabah recorded 36 cases, including 27 from the Benteng LD cluster.

There are three cases in Kedah while the other case is from a new cluster named Ara in Penang.

The remaining 12 cases were imported and involved three Malaysians and nine non-citizens.

There were no Covid-19 related deaths and the death toll remains at 130.

Meanwhile, there were no new cases in Sarawak for the third consecutive day.

Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) however warned that the Alam Cluster in Bintulu remains active in the state.

The cluster remains active although all eight patients from this cluster have recovered and have been discharged from the hospital.
