Covid-19: 30% of clusters in the country started at work places

AS Malaysia recorded 835 new Covid-19 cases as of noon today, it was revealed that 30 percent of clusters in the country started in work places.

Health Ministry director general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were 62 workplace clusters, with 37 of them still active.

This includes the two new clusters detected today, Lintas in Kota Kinabalu and Limbungan in Labuan.

He said the new cases brings the total number of infections nationwide to 28,640.

Currently there are 9,903 active cases with 89 of them requiring intensive care, and 32 on ventilators.

Dr Noor Hisham said two more deaths were reported today, raising the death toll to 238.

There were 674 recoveries today, bringing the total number of recoveries to 18,499.

Of the new cases, Sabah registered the most number of cases today with 410, down more than half from yesterday’s high of 927 cases.

Negeri Sembilan reported a big surge with 155 new cases, followed by Selangor (126), Labuan (76) and Sarawak (16).
