Covid-19: 100 new cases reported nationwide, mostly from Sabah

THE Health Ministry reported 100 new Covid-19 cases today, 62 of whom are from the Benteng Lahad Datu lock-up cluster in Sabah. This brings the total number of positive cases in the country now to 9,559.

Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said today that of the 62 from the lockup cluster, 32 were Malaysians and the remaining 30 were foreigners.

He also reported that the Sungai cluster in Kedah recorded 23 cases, all Malaysians.

There were also 15 imported cases today. Sarawak did not report any new Covid-19 cases today, the State’s Disaster Management Committee said in a statement today.

Dr Noor Hisham also announced that no new Covid-19 related deaths were reported today, with the tally holding at 128.

Seven patients are in intensive care units nationwide, with four needing respiratory support.
