SENIOR International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Mohamaed Azmin Ali will be summoned by the police over alleged violation of inter-district travel ban during Raya, that was first brought to light by his estranged sister Ummi Hafilda Ali.

Sepang police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Fadzil Ali said the Minister’s family members, Ummi Hafilda and the General Operations Force personnel station at Azmin’s residence would also be called.

“Initial investigations showed that the Raya gathering only involved family members who stayed in the house.

“The security personnel stationed at the house has also confirmed that there was no movement of guests as claimed in the viral social media post,” Mohd Fadzil said in a statement.

However, he added that witnesses would still be called up to give their statements.

Ummi Hafilda had alleged in her Facebook post that the gathering among Azmin’s family members on the first day of Hari Raya on Thursday in Presint 10, Putrajaya, had violated the inter-district travel ban.

She had questioned the presence of Azmin’s children and their spouses at the home.

Her post also reproduced a photo uploaded by Azmin on his social media channels.

A police report on the matter was lodged at 3pm yesterday, Mohd Fadzil Ali said.
