China to share with Sarawak experience battling Covid-19

HEALTH experts from China will share with Sarawak its experience and strategies in curbing the spread of Covid-19.

Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine Dr Li Jun who led a team of doctors from China in a two-day visit to the state also commended Sarawak’s efforts to contain the virus, Dayak Daily reported.

The delegation had visited various health facilities in Kuching, including the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH).

“We are here to observe and to see how China can help to improve the management in helping Covid-19 patients to recover.

“The strategies here are different but the results have been very good. Your healthcare workers and other frontliners too have worked very hard,” he commended.

Dr Li is accompanied by Dr Wen Miaoyun, Dr Zhang Youping, Dr Liu Tao, Dr Sun Jiufeng, Dr Yang Shifang, Dr Luo Xiaodan and Dr Liu Xiangxin. Also present was the Chinese Consul General in Kuching Cheng Guangzhong.

The Chinese had also presented 10,000 N95 face masks, 10,000 surgical face masks, 10,000 nursing face masks and 2,500 protective goggles to the state which were received by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah.

Uggah said he hoped that the Chinese team would provide critical analysis of the state’s strategies and approaches.

“This includes what we have done right or wrong. But most importantly, we hope the team can share with our taskforce their experiences and strategies,” he added.
