Chief secretary in quarantine, cancels Emergency press conference

CHIEF Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali is undergoing self-quarantine until Jan 31 after coming into contact with a Covid-19 patient.

Mohd Zuki said he had come into contact with a Covid-19 patient on Jan 22, following which the Health Ministry had advised the country’s top civil servant to be quarantined at home, he wrote on his Instagram.

He added that the running of the civil service would not be affected due to this.

“I will continue to carry out my responsibilities during this period. I will be working from home to handle matters and to chair or attend meetings virtually, ” he said.

Zuki was scheduled to hold a press conference on Emergency management at 2pm on Tuesday, had to cancel the event due to this latest development.

He will be issuing a media statement instead.
