BATU Member of Parliament P. Prabakaran has been detained by the police this afternoon for allegedly breaching the Movement Control Order (MCO).

He was said to have gone to the Sri Murni apartment in Selayang, Kuala Lumpur, which has been put under enhanced MCO today to check out the situation there, The Malaysian Insight reported.

His political secretary Muhamed Reza Abdul Ralib said the lawmaker had identified himself at the police base.

“However, they confiscated his handphone and took him to the Sentul district police headquarters.”

Meanwhile, Malaysiakini reported that the police had escorted Prabakaran after he got into a argument with Federal Territories Minister Edmund Santhara there.

Prabakaran had asked Santhara to place welfare officials at the apartment, but the deputy minister asked him to leave, the Batu MP claimed.
