Baru Bian to join Sarawak based party?

THE question of which party will former PKR MP Baru Bian join may be answered this week as it is said that he has already chosen a new platform.

Local news portal Gago Daily reported that according to sources, the Selangau MP will be joining a Sarawak-based party but it could not be ascertained whether it will be Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB), Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) atau Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak Baru (PBDS)

“That’s what we heard based on our WhatsApp chats. He does not want to join a Peninsular based party as he does not want to be called an ‘Ulun Malaya’. We shall wait for an official announcement.”

Baru had previously said that he did not join Bersatu as earlier reported and that he remained as an Independent MP.

He was part of the group of MPs from PKR that backed Datuk Seri Azmin Ali, triggering the collapse of the Pakatan Harapan federal government.

He was also the Works Minister in the PH government.

Baru along with Puncak Borneo MP Willie Mongin dan Saratok MP Ali Biju have since left PKR.
