Baru Bian denies joining Bersatu, remains Independent

By Emma Victoria

SELANGAU MP Baru Bian has denied that he had joined Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu), saying he was an independent MP.

In a Facebook posting on Wednesday, he wrote:

“I wish to clarify that I am not part of the group that has joined (Bersatu).

I am an independent MP and am committed to working towards a better future for Sarawak and Sarawakians.”

Yesterday, Borneo Post reported Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin confirming that all former PKR MPs including Baru have joined Bersatu.

The MPs led by Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali applied to join the party, and the party’s supreme council members in a meeting recently approved their applications.
