PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said he had presented documents to the King to show that he commands the majority support of MPs.
Claiming to have the support of more than 120 MPs, the opposition leader said he had submitted statutory declarations and confirmations from party leaders as well, reports Malaysiakini.
“I appeal to all to give His Majesty space to carry out his responsibilities…
“(His Majesty) will summon the heads of parties over the next day or two,” he told a press conference in Kuala Lumpur.
Anwar met the King this morning at Istana Negara.
Malaysiakini reports that several political party leaders have also been summoned to Istana Negara following the meeting.
So far, the news portal confirms that MIC president Tan Sri SA Vigneswaran and DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng have received their invitations.
However, Amanah president Mohamad Sabu and PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassin said they did not receive any such an invitation.
The King is also meeting Gua Musang MP and Umno veteran Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah this afternoon.
