SARAWAK Pas says that PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim claim that he has “enough numbers” to form a new government is just a political gimmick for Sabah state election.
Sarawak Pas Commissioner Jofri Jaraiee said nothing will happen except for the stock market to crash, which it did yesterday.
“As usual, DAP is a teammate and they are definitely supporting each other,” he told The New Sarawak.
On rumours that Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) is feeling uneasy with Perikatan Nasional as Pas and Bersatu seem to be interested to contest in Sarawak, Jofri declined to comment further.
“I cannot comment on things that are not certain or have not happened. We will just wait and see. We will leave the matter to our central leadership to decide if we should be contesting in Sarawak,” he added.
Meanwhile, Parti Sarawak Bersatu said the party has been consistent and steadfast in their stand to support parties that won the people’s mandate in the 14th General Election.
“The rakyat gave the mandate to the Pakatan Harapan alliance and we must respect the wishes of the people until the next General Election. PSB will not hop here and there.
“It must be emphasised that PSB will remain independent and will not join any alliance or coalition,” the party secretariat said in a statement.
DAP Bukit Assek assemblywoman Irene Chang said the party will stand by what the party secretary-general Lim Guan Eng had said – that all 42 DAP MPs will support Anwar as the prime minister if he has the numbers to form the federal government.
