POLICE have recorded statements from Umno president Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi’s daughter Datuk Nurul Hidayah and her husband over allegations that they flouted the Movement Control Order.

Nurul Hidayah and her husband Datuk Saiful Nizam Mohd Yusoff were said to have arrived at Bukit Aman around 11am today and left about an hour later, reports Berita Harian.

It is believed that their statements were recorded by the special investigations unit of the Criminal Investigations Department.

This follows after Nurul Hidayah and Saiful met Deputy Environment and Water Minister Ahmad Masrizal Muhammad and Religious Affairs Minister Zulkifli Mohamed at their offices in Putrajaya and later posted photos in social media.

She was heavily criticised for it but she responded by challenging critics to lodge a police report against her.

In an exchange on Instagram between Nurul Hidayah and a netizen who commented on one of her photographs taken in Putrajaya after a meeting:

“All this can be done via video conferencing,” said the commenter, to which Nurul Hidayah responded, “Just lodge a police report, no need to comment here.”

“I am ready to cooperate and have my statement recorded. I dare (you),” she had said.

Responding to Nurul Hidayah, the netizen said, “I don’t accept this challenge… Thank you very much, I will just stay at home.”

To a netizen who questioned how she was able to bypass the MCO and attend the meeting together with her husband, Nurul Hidayah merely responded with #malasnaklayanorangnegatif (ignoring negative vibes).

In another apparent swipe at her detractors, Nurul Hidayah labelled them as the “not so intelligent”, who might not know the difference between the MCO and total lockdown.
