SARAWAK Chief Minister has urged the close contacts of Covid-19 cases in the state to get screened.
Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Abang Openg hoped that everyone continues to adhere to the Movement Control Order (MCO) due to the increasing Covid-19 positive cases and fatalities in Sarawak.
“I sincerely hope that everyone will play their roles while the authorities have been putting various efforts to break the chain of infection and contain the outbreak,” he said.
“Although we couldn’t observe Ramadan month or celebrate Hari Gawai as how we usually do, I hope that we will continue to remain strong and preserve in facing the challenges during this difficult times and other restrictions under the MCO.
At such, we must be discipline and avoid mass gatherings as well as practice social distancing and maintain good personal hygiene habit,” he said in a Raya Gawai message statement.
On behalf of the Sarawak government, Abang Johari took the opportunity to wish all the Muslims “Selamat Berpuasa” and Happy Dayak Gawai to all the Dayak communities across the state.
