76 more cases of Delta variant found in Sarawak

SARAWAK has recorded another 76 cases of the Delta variant from samples tested between July 7 and 13.

Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) Institute of Health and Community Medicine (IHCM) director Prof Dr David Perera said 52 of the Covid-19 cases were detected in Kuching.

In a statement to the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah, he said the samples were taken from Sentosa Hospital, Satok Police Station and other locations in Kuching.

Other places where the Delta variant was found are Serian (11 cases), Samarahan (3), Sri Aman (5) and one case each in Sibu, Miri and Betong.

The cases were classified as ‘Import A’ and ‘Import B’ categories ..
