THREE senior police officers in Selangor, suspected of having contracted Coivd-19, are under quarantine since yesterday.

Malaysiakini reported that one of them was sent to Sg Buloh hospital while the other two were under home quarantine.

The trio is said to have gone for screening after having close contact with a person, who subsequently tested positive for Covid-19, during prayer in a mosque in the state several days ago.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin had announced a movement control order starting tomorrow until March 31.

The limit on public movement in a bid to curb the Covid-19 outbreak includes the closing of schools and private premises.

However, essential services, supermarkets, wet markets, grocery shops and convenience stores will remain open and accessible.

According to the Health Ministry, the number of Covid-19 cases is now 553 since the beginning of the outbreak, with 190 cases reported on Sunday and another 125 yesterday.
